By Giles Milton Suitable age: 12 and above Written by Giles Milton, this non-fiction book narrates an astonishing story that took place during World War II. The organization which influenced the creation of CIA and the British military intelligences began as a lowly group focused on using guerrilla warfare against the Nazis. Despite backlash from the war cabinet and being dubbed as ‘ungentlemanly’ and ‘ineffective’, this group, later known as MI1, orchestrated many assassinations and sabotages. This group even went on extraordinary missions like demolishing a plutonium factory and ridding Hitler of a Nazi atomic bomb. I am a World War II history enthusiast but I have never heard of such an organization in my years of studying the chronology of World War II. It is hard to believe that such an important part of the war was pretty much forgotten and not widely discussed. This story is also tremendously amusing in several areas. It continues to intrigue me and I find the book impossible to put down. Recommended for history enthusiasts like me, this book will deliver you a gripping and outrageous, yet true story of historical adventures. 4.5 Elliot Stars (out of 5)
