Written by Anthony Horowitz, Stormbreaker is the first book to the Alex Rider series. Alex Rider is just a ordinary schoolboy until his uncle dies in a car crash. Suspicious, Alex decides to investigate and discovers that the car that his uncle was in moments before death was not damaged despite the numerous bullet holes that penetrated the metal exterior of the car. Alex discovers that his father, in reality, was a MI6 agent and was terminated in his last mission: Stormbreaker. Recruited by MI6, Alex disguises as a computer whiz Felix Lester in order finish what his uncle started. The plot is interesting with a typical villain. What I found intriguing is that in most spy novels, the protagonist lacks enthusiasm on being a spy. The main protagonists innocency makes it effortless for readers to understand how his uncle’s death overwhelmed him. Recommended for those who enjoy James Bond novels, this book contains a storm of spy thrills. I think my god sisters may like this book too.
