Suitable age: 12 and above
Written by Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons begins with Harvard professor Robert Langdon receiving a phone call regarding a murder and branding of a scientist and creator of a astonishing new discovery which will change the world, the suspect of such a crime? The notorious Illuminati. After the discovery of a missing time bomb with incredibly destructive power, Langdon and the daughter of the murdered scientist rush to the Vatican where the College of Cardinals elect a new pope while a weapon of mass destruction threatens to unleash it’s unstoppable power beneath their feet. The plot is incredibly complex, yet Dan Brown keeps our interest right through to the end. This book illuminates information of the ancient brotherhood, the Illuminati, Rome, and the Vatican. In contrast to the film, the novels closure is not as joyous as the movie, but the books ending is more concluding thanks to the larger amount of information the reader receives which results in better understanding of the ending.
